Larimer County Court Dockets
A docket is the court's working list of scheduled hearings and case events. In Larimer County, dockets help show whether a case is set for advisement, arraignment, motions, trial setting, plea, sentencing, review, probation revocation, civil hearing, small-claims setting, or another event. A docket may also show the courthouse, courtroom, judge or magistrate, party names, case number, and hearing time.
The docket does not usually provide every document in the file. A person checking a District Court felony case may see the next hearing and case number, but the charging document, plea paperwork, order, mittimus, or sentencing terms may need a document request. The same split applies in civil, domestic, probate, and traffic matters. Dockets are a fast way to find where the case is moving, while Larimer County court records provide the broader file path.
- Docket
- A schedule or event list for a case or court calendar.
- Disposition
- The outcome of a case or charge, such as judgment, dismissal, plea, or sentence.
- Continuance
- A new date after a hearing or deadline is moved.
Search Larimer County Dockets
The main state docket channel is the Colorado Judicial Branch docket search. It is free and covers Colorado District Court and County Court dockets, including Larimer County courts in the 8th Judicial District. The search requires a date and at least one extra filter. Good filters include county, courthouse, case number, party name, and attorney bar number.
- Open the Colorado Judicial Branch docket search and enter the date to be checked.
- Add Larimer County, 8th Judicial District, a courthouse, a case number, a party name, or an attorney bar number.
- Check whether the result belongs to the Larimer County Justice Center, Loveland County Court, or another listed location.
- Review the hearing type, time, courtroom, judicial officer, and case number before traveling or calling.
- Use the court record/document request form or 08RecordRequest@judicial.state.co.us when the docket does not provide the document itself.
Daily dockets can change. Same-day courtroom changes, continuances, remote links, and late settings should be confirmed with the court when a missed appearance could affect bond, a warrant, or a deadline.
Larimer County Docket Fields
Research did not identify a separate sample docket image inventory beyond the statewide docket-search field inventory, so the useful table is the search and result data a Larimer County user should expect to work with. These fields are enough to confirm the court date and support a later file request.

|---|---|
| Case number | The unique court file number used for docket review and document requests. |
| Court location | Larimer County Justice Center, Loveland County Court, or municipal court when outside state court. |
| Case type | Criminal, misdemeanor, traffic, civil, domestic, juvenile, probate, small claims, or related category. |
| Party names | Names of public parties when not sealed, suppressed, juvenile, or otherwise protected. |
| Hearing date and time | The scheduled appearance date and time for the docket event. |
| Hearing type | Advisement, arraignment, motions, plea, trial setting, review, sentencing, judgment, or other event. |
| Courtroom or officer | The courtroom, judge, magistrate, or division when shown in docket output. |
| Docket event | Filing, order, continuance, warrant issued or recalled, probation review, judgment, or other case activity. |
The Larimer released-inmates source assigned to this docket page is not a court docket, but it shows how public event lists are separated by current status and date in county systems.
That distinction matters for docket research because custody events, release lists, and court hearing dockets can refer to the same person without being the same record.
Larimer County Docket Channels
Larimer County has more than one docket source because Colorado uses state trial courts and city municipal courts. The state docket search is the correct first place for District Court and County Court schedules. Fort Collins Municipal Court, Loveland municipal matters, Estes Park matters, and other city cases may follow local court procedures and may not appear as state District Court or County Court dockets.
- District Court dockets cover felony, civil, domestic, juvenile, probate, mental-health, and appeals from some lower tribunals.
- County Court dockets cover misdemeanors, traffic, infractions, small claims, and civil claims up to the Colorado county-court limit.
- Loveland County Court dockets are searched through state court channels but have a separate Loveland court location.
- Fort Collins Municipal Court handles city ordinance, traffic, misdemeanors, petty offenses, civil infractions, photo enforcement, and municipal warrants.
- County Clerk and Recorder records, including deeds and marriage-license recordings, are not court dockets.
The Larimer jail population source assigned to this docket page shows another public status dashboard connected to criminal justice activity, not a court schedule.
Jail status can explain why a person has an upcoming hearing, but the court docket remains the source for the appearance date.
Larimer County Dockets vs Case Files
A docket entry is usually short. It may show that a motion was filed, a plea was entered, a hearing was continued, or sentencing occurred. It may not show the text of the motion, the plea agreement, the order, or the detailed sentence. For complete records, use the Larimer Clerk of Court request channel or the statewide record/document request form.
| Docket | Full Case Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Tracks schedule and case events. | Stores pleadings, orders, judgments, and filed documents. |
| Access | Often searched online by date and filter. | May require a Clerk of Court request, fee, ID, or court approval. |
| Best use | Confirm a hearing, courtroom, or case status. | Read legal filings, certified outcomes, and detailed orders. |
| Limits | May omit restricted names and document text. | May be redacted, sealed, suppressed, or partly unavailable. |
Criminal matters show this difference clearly. The docket may list arraignment, plea, sentencing, and probation review, while Larimer County criminal court records can include the complaint or information, plea paperwork, disposition, sentencing order, restitution, and probation terms.
Read Larimer County Dockets
Start with the court and case type. A CR case number usually points to a criminal file, while M and T records can involve misdemeanor or traffic matters, and DR, JV, PR, and CV point to domestic, juvenile, probate, or civil categories. Juvenile and protected cases may display less public data. Probate and mental-health entries may also be limited because protected-person and medical details are not public content.
Next, read the event in sequence. A complaint filed entry starts a case. Advisement and arraignment entries show early criminal hearings. Motions and orders show requests and rulings. A disposition entry shows outcome. Sentencing, mittimus, restitution, and probation entries show post-disposition terms. A warrant entry means the case may have an active or recently recalled court order, so the status should be confirmed before relying on an old docket printout.
Note: A docket is a status tool, not proof that all filings are public or current at the moment viewed.
Larimer County Case Notice Options
Docket search is not the only way people monitor a Larimer County case. Colorado VINE provides custody and criminal-case notification features, while jail pages, booking pages, and release pages show custody status. These systems answer different questions. A court docket answers when a case is set. VINE and custody pages answer whether a person is in custody, released, transferred, or connected to a notification event.
The Colorado VINE source assigned to this docket page is a statewide notification channel for custody and criminal-case updates.
VINE can supplement docket checks, but it does not replace the Colorado Judicial Branch docket search or Clerk of Court records requests.
VINE is most useful when custody status matters to a hearing. A person who is booked into the Larimer County Jail may have a state court date at the Justice Center or Loveland County Court, and the jail profile can list upcoming court information. Still, the court calendar is the source for appearance duties. If VINE, the jail roster, and the docket do not match, the court should be contacted before relying on any single online result.
Larimer County Docket Help
For state dockets, the Larimer County Justice Center and Loveland County Court are the practical contact points. Fort Collins Municipal Court is a different court even though it is near the Justice Center in downtown Fort Collins. The city court warns people with Fort Collins municipal citations requiring an 8:00 a.m. appearance not to go to the Larimer County Justice Center.
That warning is important because a wrong-building mistake can lead to a missed appearance. A Fort Collins camera radar, red-light, parking, petty offense, or ordinance citation may use the municipal court process. A state misdemeanor, state traffic case, felony filing, domestic matter, probate matter, or civil case uses the Colorado Judicial Branch path. The ticket, summons, notice, or docket result should name the court before any trip is made.
When in doubt, use the phone number on the summons or docket result before the hearing day.
